Day 38
Nothing too fancy today...I was asked to make a "design" that could be printed on some sort of children's Sunday school bag (that is already been colored...I think it might be a blue canvas bag...or maybe some other sort of pre-colored cloth)...9.5'' by 9.5'' in one color - I'm not entirely sure what it is supposed to be printed on, other than its blue...so I'm not sure how white would work, or if white is even an option...is there white ink? is that a dumb question? I figure that in order to print white on a dark background, it would require a ton of ink to make it a solid white....so I guess my best bet would be to make it a really light grey. I tend to favor the white on blue...so should I make a light grey on blue, instead of white?
What do you think? any changes? I have like 4 or 5 different versions of this same design...outlined trees, filled trees, white, black....etc. Please give me some suggestions...before tomorrow afternoon...

Day 34
some old mock-ups I needed to re-work:
check this project out... for my graphics 2 class we made logos for this ... and I wanted to redo mine since I didn't put too much time into it the first time around, suggestions? comments?

Day 33
after trying for about half an hour to make a seemless map background...I realized that a map is probably one of the hardest things to make seamless. At least the way I was doing it...so instead I made a book cover, of sorts...

Day 32
I know what you're sayin 'we saw this...yesterday' but! this is a perfectly tile-able image...meaning you can tile it. and you will not see any seams. it took me a while to figure out how to do this so...it counts!
I just became a tweeter(?) - (check me out?)
so yeah. I made this so I could have a unique background...there were a few challenges though: a) it had to be seamlessly tile-able, b) it had to be less than 800kb....and c) somewhat creative...yet not too distracting...so. I know I got 2 out of 3....

Day 31
working in photoshop has reduced my 'dependence' - if you can call it that - on a grid system....not sure if that's a good or a bad thing - also; I don't care about readability.

Day 29
for some reason...when I saved this for "web and devices" my smooth gradients...turned choppy...why...does photoshop...not do what I want it to do...
edit: turns out the 'choppiness' that I was referring to is technically referred to as "banding" (at least in some circles) and it is a result of working with images in 8-bit mode, however if work with a 32-bit image...I cannot use most of the filters and blending modes that I use to make this stuff...so basically if I don't want banding...I can't do cool stuff. Basically. So if any of you know how.../what I could do...I tried merging the layers and then converting...doesn't work. Maybe...CS4 ...I need it.

Day 27
I thought the latest Offspring album cover could use a little bit of a remake...I listened to the cd 4 times all the way through while I was making the new cover...hopefully that helped.
edit: made the logo a bit more prominent...etc

Day 26
For some reason...I had my proof color profile as CMYK...instead of RGB. Took me about 45 minutes to figure this out and change it...
I HATE photoshop.
